Pasture raised, conservation grazing, rare breed beef
Shetland Beef
Our Shetland cattle are fed entirely on pasture, with the exception of a few sugar beet nuts as treats and bribes! They are reared using low impact, sustainable, nature-friendly and organic-in-principle farming methods.
We never use any artificial inputs (fertiliser, pesticides, herbicides) on the land.
We work with the RSPB to provide habitat for breeding waders by grazing our cows at a low density.
They have been reared for at least 30 months. Shetland cattle are slow maturing, developing a more intense, traditional beef flavour. Shetland beef is rich in conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and Omega-3s, and low in saturated fat levels.
